When Do I Know If It's Time To Refinance My Auto Loan?

When you go in to refinance your automobile loan, make sure you're armed with a list of lenders willing to compete for your business. If someone offers you a loan - and makes it sound urgent - don't listen to them!

If they want your business (and they always will), the loan will be there for you when you finish comparison-shopping. You don't have to scour every lender on the planet - just get 3-4 offers and use them to negotiate the best deal possible.

It may be that ABC lending company will give you a 12% interest rate. But when they hear that XYZ lenders beat their deal by 2 percentage points that may make them rethink their offer.

Also, read the fine print of every auto loan you are offered. Every company has different rules and regulations. You don't want to be paying hidden fees to one company who offered a better interest rate if it would have saved you money to go with a company offering a higher interest rate, but no additional costs.
